Mint.com is now live! Free online money manager. Why net neutrality is important [pic]

I hadn’t updated my GeoffMyers.net website in awhile, so I finally decided to go through and change quite a few things:

  • Updated global template
  • Updated homepage
  • Updated photography page
  • Updated audio & video page (consolidated the movies & music pages)
  • Added Snap Shots (preview links before clicking them)
  • Validated CSS markup (web standards = good!)
  • Added Google Custom Search (on every page – find what you want, fast!)
  • Did some other tweaks, quick fixes, etc.

I hope the changes that were made benefit the user’s experience. That means YOU! I tested the time that it takes to load each page, and I think they all do so reasonably quickly (~2-3 seconds for me). Let me know if anything takes too long to load or if there are any errors that you experience. I love constructive criticism! Please give me feedback. :)

Oh no, not Snap Shots! That’s an internet faux pas :(

I actually really do prefer the old template. It’s a lot more calm, organized, and easy to read. The new one has a lot of trouble helping the reader distinguish between posts. That and the new version is very crowded — there’s a lot of unnecessary stuff on the home page. And, even if it’s CSS-validated, it still has about 56 HTML errors, so you’re still probably better off with the old one, provided that you validate its CSS :/

    Hey,
I really like the new site. The new features and design changes are great. The new blog template is also very nice!
